Kamloops, or “Spookloops” as the locals refer to it in October is a fabulous place to visit! The trees have popped with colour, the days are crisp yet mainly sunny and there are countless activities to try out and events you can attend!
If you are travelling with the family, a trip to Boo at the Zoo at the BC Wildlife Park is a must. Just because the sun goes down, does not mean the park goes to rest! On October 28, 29 and 30, the park re-opens for little ones to experience a world of lighted animal displays, rides on the Express Miniature Train, a Spooky Spider Scavenger Hunt, a Haunted Maze, Animal Encounters, Story Time in the Witch’s Corner and even some trick-or-treating!
Another great idea whether with your family, significant other or friends is a trip to Tranquille Farms legendary corn maze, this year themed after a brain! After you find your way out, be sure to jump aboard a wagon for a historical tour of the farm.
Looking for something a little more on the spooky side? Try your nerves on a dimly lit Tunnel Tour beneath the former Tranquille Sanatorium. Western Canada Theatre presents “The Disordered Mind” Tunnel Theatre. Follow your hosts as they act out scenes, leading you on a journey you will be soon to forget!
Need a spook-free break? Our local WHL Team, the Kamloops Blazers, are back in action! Come and cheer them on at the Sandman Centre Area just steps from Hotel 540’s doors or try a local pint of craft beer or wine from one of our local brewers or wineries.
As always, the best place to take a break or fuel-up before heading out is within our hotel’s signature restaurant, Blue Dining + Lounge!
Whatever your fall adventures hold, be sure to make your home-base while in Kamloops at Hotel 540.
